Mini Holiday Gift Guide 2020

Thanksgiving is officially over and all the sales have started pouring in.. well before Thanksgiving!

I’m calling this a mini gift guide because I haven’t had time to make a full-on list of ALL the Black Friday sales in between finishing unpacking and organizing our new home in Montana. You’ll also notice it’s mostly all gifts for HER and not a lot for HIM. Next year, I won’t have so much on my plate, and I hope to have a full gift guide prepared next year.

Part of my gift guide includes a few small businesses, two of which are from my home state of Arizona!

Teami Facial Oils | Review

#TeamiPartner

Hi guys! We’re still living the hotel life in Montana as we get ready to move into our new home.

You may remember in my previous vlog, I’ve slowly been taking over the bathroom counter with all my skincare products.. oops! However, it’s important to me to maintain the same level of skincare that I would maintain at home!

Right now, my main struggle is keeping clean face masks on hand. I don’t leave the hotel every day, so I haven’t been able to spray toner on my facemask before use (we need to wear them inside the hotel in the halls or when we grab breakfast, but not in our own rooms of course!). The Trader Joe’s toner I normally use for my face masks has been in my car since we left Colorado. I’ve also been using the same face mask for a week (eek!!) and my chin is taking a hit.

Overall, it’s been rough in terms of skincare! And while it’s crazy windy in Great Falls, MT, my skin has been super hydrated!

I’ve been using tea-infused facial oils from Teami’s skincare line and it’s been amazing for my skin. I was definitely hesitant at first, as my skin is typically oily, but it hasn’t made it oiler!

In the morning, I use Teami’s Glow Facial Oil. It’s made with jojoba oil, rose petals, and cinnamon bark. This is one I was especially excited about because the ingredients like the rose petals are said to help lighten dark spots! I love using this before I apply my makeup.

You guys.. I’ve noticed a difference in the dark spots above my lip!! They have definitely lighten up since I started using this and I honestly wasn’t expecting much out of it! So, I definitely won’t stop using this!

At night, I use Teami’s Repair Facial Oil. It’s made with chamomile tea flowers, jojoba oil, sea buckthorn fruit oil, and vitamin E oil, just to name a few ingredients. This replaces my moisturizer at night and is very long-lasting.

I’ve also been using their Rose Quartz facial roller, which in all honesty I thought facial rollers were a complete joke! But I am here to confess… I’m addicted.

The benefits may be temporary, but I love it because it’s helped with my sinus headaches, which I will always get between eyes, at the top of the bridge of my nose. I’ll use it in the morning (and my makeup does seem to go on smoother), and I’ll use at night while I’m watching TV. It feels great after a long day too!

Looking for a face mask? Teami’s Beauty Mask is still my favorite and I’m so upset I didn’t pack it in my skincare bag during the move!

FlutterHabit Lashes | Review & Tutorial

I’ve always loved the look of long and full lashes, but lash extensions are just out of my price range.

As a former TV news reporter, I always wanted to accentuate my lashes, whether it was with mascara advertised to do the trick or glue-on lashes.

The problem with glue-on lashes is that they’re messy and I’m awful at them! You may remember a previous post about my go-to Pre-Glued Eylure False Lashes. Those are still my favorite false lashes, but now I have a new favorite DIY lash extension kit. AND.. it lasts for FIVE DAYS!

That’s right! DIY! They’re from FlutterHabit, which has DIY lash extension kits in several styles. I’ve been wearing the Happy Medium and I’m hooked!

For $29.99 you get two boxes of lashes, giving you six pairs.

The best part, they’re customizable! As you can see in the picture above, the Happy Medium comes in 4 lash clusters. You can wear them as is, or you can customize it for a more wispy look. That means you would cut the middle two clusters in half, to get a 3, 2, 2, 3 set of lash clusters.

I didn’t come up with my lash application technique on my own – that came up from a video posted by a “Flutter Expert” on the FlutterHabit Family Facebook group.

In fact, this is the exact video I followed. I highly recommend joining the Facebook group because it’s a great resource for tips and tricks, and a good spot to ask any questions you may have. My first application of these lashes would not have been as successful if it weren’t for the video.

While there is definitely a learning curve, it’s not as difficult as you might expect it to be, believe me! I thought I was going to have an awful time. But I give FlutterHabit lashes a 10/10 rating! Highly recommend!

While I have gotten my lashes to last a full week, I recommend not going longer than five days. I like to give my natural lashes a break and time to breathe in-between wears. I ONLY use the latex glue sold by FlutterHabit and haven’t had any issues or damage to my natural lashes.

For upkeep and maintenance, don’t drench your lashes in water, be careful with eye makeup removal (I normally use a Q-Tip to remove eye makeup while wearing these lashes).

To remove the lashes, I wait until after a hot shower, when the waterproof latex glue is soft and I can gently tug the lashes off. It’s painless and your natural lashes are safe! You can also use an oil-based makeup remover to remove the lashes, but I think after a hot shower is the easiest!

Because I enjoy FlutterHabit lashes so much, I reached out to the company to see if I could get a deal for you all!

Billie Dry Shampoo | Review

I’m a big fan of the Billie Razor, so when they came out with a dry shampoo, I was pumped!

Billie has two different types of dry shampoos: one for blondes and a darker one for brunettes.

It’s claimed to be a volumizing dry shampoo, but volume is what I think it lacks the most.

It definitely does the job – cleans and refreshes, but it does not give me the lift I need at my roots.

However, now that a lot of us have been working from home, I, as I’m sure many others, have been doing the bare minimum with getting dressed and ready.. for Zoom meetings.

So, I’ve realized this dry shampoo has been pretty convenient – especially the one made for brunettes. All I have to do is drop some of it on my roots, massage it in, and I’m ready! No need to worry about white powder or streaks that other dry shampoos normally leave in my hair.

However, for volume, the Batiste Volumizing Dry Shampoo (with collagen) is my top favorite.

Teami Beauty Butterfly Collagen | Review

#TeamiPartner

Teami has a number of different products when it comes to wellness — from superfood blends, tea blend, detoxes, and now, collagen powder!

So, what is collagen?

Collagen is a protein that gives skin its strength and elasticity. Experts say your body starts to produce less collagen around the age of 25. Now, numerous health and beauty companies have been coming out with both powder and liquid collagen, as it’s believed to help keep your skin plump, which in turn will help prevent wrinkles! It’s also believed to be beneficial to your bones, nails, and hair as well.

Teami recently released their Teami Beauty Butterfly Collagen, which consists of a blend of wild-caught marine collagen, butterfly pea flower, and acai berry — ingredients Teami says is beneficial to hair, skin, and nails.

According to Teami, their marine collagen actually comes from codfish scales.

Sounds weird right? And if you’re like me – and you hate the taste and smell of anything with fish, then you’re probably wondering how this collagen powder doesn’t taste awful.

I was definitely concerned with this collagen powder, but I tried some of the smoothie recipes Teami sent me and I CAN’T taste or smell any fish!

You can mix the collagen powder with just milk (any type) or water, but I think mixing it in a smoothie blend really masks the fish flavor and smell.

Try it and get 25% off with my code: ONAIR25

Get the Beauty Butterfly Collagen here.

My code will also work on their other products and some of their tumblers.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale | My Wish List

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is something I look forward to EVERY year. It’s a time when you can find some of the best deals on a number of items from women and men’s clothing, accessories, home decor, and much, much, more. Mark your calendars! The sale opens to the public on August 19th!

I use this time to stock up on skincare products I know I like (if they’re part of the sale), and to try new products I couldn’t bring myself to splurge full price on.

Of course, if there aren’t a lot of items I’m super interested in, it’s okay! There’s no need to try and find something just for the sake of buying an item on sale. Plus, there’s always next year!

Since I have a Nordstrom credit card, I’m able to shop the sale before the public. In fact, you can even apply for a Nordstrom credit card anytime from now until ONE day before the sale. BUT — do not go into debt over this or any sale. Give yourself a budget to follow and stick to!

While I won’t have a video guide for the sale, I thought it’d be fun to still outline what I’m looking to get this year.

This year, I’m going for more of a relaxed vibe with clothing. Maybe a restock on a skincare item, a bra I know I like, maybe some jewelry, and a Barefoot Dreams blanket I’ve been putting off on getting. Again, this is just my wishlist – I won’t be getting everything.

This whole working from home thing has really got me excited for new loungewear, and with the COVID-19 pandemic looking like it’s not going away anytime soon (although, I would like it to!), I’ve decided I need more loungewear! Also, my feet always get cold.. so that’s why I added the Barefoot Dreams fuzzy socks to my wish list, haha.

As for the earrings, this looks like the same pair I got the first time I shopped the sale a few years ago. I somehow ended up losing one of them, and I’ve been bummed about it ever since! So, I thought the price for a new set wasn’t bad.

Yes, the Chanel lip balm isn’t part of the sale, but I figured I’d just add it to my wishlist anyway and order it all at once. I’ve heard great things about it too!

I’ve also been looking to get more workout tops and figured why not add at least one to this list. This Free People top has great reviews and I definitely wouldn’t be getting it if it wasn’t on sale.

You may have noticed pajama sets in my list — I think they’re cute and I really don’t have any pj sets in my wardrobe.

The black and white top from Threat & Supply looks so soft – I hope it fits good too! This is the most challenging part of online shopping – you just hope it all fits right!

I’m super picky about my jewelry, but I think the silver Cubic Zirconia Bangle from Nordstrom would look great with a gold or silver watch.

The Natori bra on my list is something I already have in a different color. I love how it fits and feels, and I thought this would be a great time to get a second one.

Jo Malone London fragrances are something I see on nearly everyone’s wishlist/guide for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I’ve never smelled any of their perfumes or candles, but I’m considering trying out their Mini Discovery Set.

If you’ve ever seen any Nordstrom Anniversary Sale guide, then it should be no surprise to see the Barefoot Dreams blanket on my wish list. I have one of their cardigans from a previous sale – it’s huge on me. It basically looks like a robe, but I still wear it. So, I’ll be sure to try on other cardigans in store before I purchase another one. I’ve definitely been wanting one of their blankets, and now is the perfect time!
