Our Engagement Photos

One of the last things we were able to do before our move to Montana, was our engagement photo shoot. For that, we used the gorgeous backdrop of Garden of the Gods – and I LOVE how each shot turned out!

Our photographer, Mindy Miller, captured my vision for this shoot. I love her work and I’m so glad my fiancé chose her as our photographer! She also took our surprise proposal pics at the Broadmoor a few weeks earlier. I saw her before the proposal, but I always see photographers at the Broadmoor, so I didn’t think anything of it at the time!

I had two outfits planned for our engagement shoot. One dressy and one a little more casual, but still somewhat dressy.

For the dressy portion of the shoot, I wore a white, floral, flowy dress from Amazon. I got it in a size small and thought it was perfect for my shoot. It was the perfect length too! I paired with neutral-colored heels.

Get the dress here.

My second outfit was a sweater dress from Rosie Daze Boutique. It was freezing that day, around 30 degrees or so, I think. So, I made sure to wear my warmest outfit last. I got the dress in a size small and paired it with black knee-high boots. I love Rosie Daze Boutique and feel their outfits run true to size, it takes the guesswork out when trying to figure out your sizing!

The black sweater my fiancé is wearing was actually supposed to be his second outfit, to match with my sweater dress. We had went shopping earlier that week to find him a dressy top to go with the first part of the shoot. However, he showed up in this sweater and a BLACK button-down.

And so, I will always remember this as the day he was supposed to wear a burgundy colored button-down.

FlutterHabit Lashes | Review & Tutorial

I’ve always loved the look of long and full lashes, but lash extensions are just out of my price range.

As a former TV news reporter, I always wanted to accentuate my lashes, whether it was with mascara advertised to do the trick or glue-on lashes.

The problem with glue-on lashes is that they’re messy and I’m awful at them! You may remember a previous post about my go-to Pre-Glued Eylure False Lashes. Those are still my favorite false lashes, but now I have a new favorite DIY lash extension kit. AND.. it lasts for FIVE DAYS!

That’s right! DIY! They’re from FlutterHabit, which has DIY lash extension kits in several styles. I’ve been wearing the Happy Medium and I’m hooked!

For $29.99 you get two boxes of lashes, giving you six pairs.

The best part, they’re customizable! As you can see in the picture above, the Happy Medium comes in 4 lash clusters. You can wear them as is, or you can customize it for a more wispy look. That means you would cut the middle two clusters in half, to get a 3, 2, 2, 3 set of lash clusters.

I didn’t come up with my lash application technique on my own – that came up from a video posted by a “Flutter Expert” on the FlutterHabit Family Facebook group.

In fact, this is the exact video I followed. I highly recommend joining the Facebook group because it’s a great resource for tips and tricks, and a good spot to ask any questions you may have. My first application of these lashes would not have been as successful if it weren’t for the video.

While there is definitely a learning curve, it’s not as difficult as you might expect it to be, believe me! I thought I was going to have an awful time. But I give FlutterHabit lashes a 10/10 rating! Highly recommend!

While I have gotten my lashes to last a full week, I recommend not going longer than five days. I like to give my natural lashes a break and time to breathe in-between wears. I ONLY use the latex glue sold by FlutterHabit and haven’t had any issues or damage to my natural lashes.

For upkeep and maintenance, don’t drench your lashes in water, be careful with eye makeup removal (I normally use a Q-Tip to remove eye makeup while wearing these lashes).

To remove the lashes, I wait until after a hot shower, when the waterproof latex glue is soft and I can gently tug the lashes off. It’s painless and your natural lashes are safe! You can also use an oil-based makeup remover to remove the lashes, but I think after a hot shower is the easiest!

Because I enjoy FlutterHabit lashes so much, I reached out to the company to see if I could get a deal for you all!

My Purse Collection

Handbags are items I love to save for and splurge on – I can’t stop!

I love designer handbags from Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel, and more. However, I only actually own a few designer handbags, as they are so expensive!

I get a lot of my non-designer purses from TJMaxx, Ross, or Nordstrom Rack – so I’m not able to link a lot of them! But I will definitely link what I can still find!

Check out my whole purse collection below:

Amazon loungewear/workout haul

I’ve been all about comfort these days, and working from home has definitely been a factor in that!

Amazon has always been my go-to for cute, but affordable work dresses, so I thought I’d give some of their loungewear a try. I also added in some workout clothes in my last Amazon purchase, so I was slowly getting things in a few boxes at a time – it was kind of like Christmas!

You’ll see shots of me trying on each item and my thoughts in my full YouTube haul video down below.

Ordering online is always a gamble, especially if you’ve never ordered from a particular brand or store before, and aren’t sure how their sizing works. So, I hope this video helps!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Haul

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale ends August 30th, but I thought.. better late than never to share what I was actually able to get from the sale!

Not sure how you all felt, but this sale was pretty frustrating for me! My main goal was to get the leopard-print Barefoot Dreams blanket, which quickly went out of stock.

The reason I found this year’s sale so incredibly frustrating was because of the sale being accessible in tiers – ranging from Icons, Ambassadors, Influencers, Insiders, and then to the public (I’m an Insider since I have the Nordstrom credit card).

Because of the tiered access, all these Nordstrom ambassadors and influencers were able to get everything they liked or what they thought would be best sellers.. first. However, almost everything that was considered a “hot item” was out of stock before the general public had access to it. How frustrating right?!

So, the wish list I had initially posted had literally gone out the window by the time I had access to the sale.

I ended up getting four items of clothing and a pair of earrings and a bangle. Although, I wish I had gotten the Barefoot Dreams blanket and socks.. I’m happy with what I was able to get. BUT.. I am hoping next year’s sale is different!

Here are the items I got that are STILL IN STOCK:

Nordstrom Precious Metal Plated Cubic Zirconia Stud Earrings: https://rb.gy/xjcxut

Madewell Dispatch Camo Jacket: https://rb.gy/7kw6fj

Honeydew Sun Soaker Lounge Set: https://rb.gy/cig2m7

The Indoorsy “sweatshirt” I mentioned (out of stock): https://rb.gy/ql0xr3

Just for reference — here are the Spanx leggings I ordered: https://rb.gy/hunyow

The NSale is taking over my life | Adjusted Wish List

My previous blog post was all about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and what my focus on items would be on.

Well, that basically all went out the window as things started to sell out fast as it opened up to Icons, Ambassadors, and Influencers first.

I was bummed, but this is also helping me narrow down my wish list. However, because the sale is open to different people in different tiers first.. I’m also being HEAVILY INFLUENCED by everyone shopping early! It’s changed up my wish list and now I’m looking at more than just comfy loungewear.

Here’s a look at my modified wish list:

I’ve left sold out items in my cart on purpose.. hoping it might be back in stock when it’s my time to shop the sale.

I’ve deleted a few items and added a few new things, further adding to my indecisiveness.

I do have a list of Must Haves within this wish list:

  1. Barefoot Dreams Blanket
  2. Indoorsy Sweatshirt
  3. The 42 Gold Fog Suede Booties
  4. One of those leggings. Still can’t decide between the BP pair or the Spanx pair.
  5. Barefoot Dreams Socks (is this silly?)
  6. Madewell Camo Jacket

I also went to Nordstrom Rack yesterday hoping to find a Barefoot Dreams Blanket – I’ve heard they’re listed for even cheaper at $50! I didn’t find any.

What I did find were several lounge sets! So, I picked up one pair of the softest shorts I’ve ever touched, one red lounge set, and a grey cropped t-shirt. Now, I’m not so sure about these lounge sets on my wish list since I already found some for around $20.

I’m definitely hoping to get this narrowed down even more before the 13th!

Hope this blog post helps anyone looking to also narrow down their wish list!

Did you see last week’s YouTube video? It was all about my corgis!

I won’t have a regular video going up today as it will be another one about my corgis.

I’ve also placed a big order on Amazon – video on that will be up once everything comes in! It’s been divided into three orders.

Hope you all have a great week!
