Amazon Candle-Making Kit | Review

This week I’m giving you all the deets on this Amazon Candle-Making Kit!

For starters, if it’s your first time making candles, this is a really good all-in-one kit. When I made my first candle (you check out my process here), I completely forgot about buying a thermometer when I was gathering all my supplies at Hobby Lobby. Fortunately, this kit already has one.

The kit includes six tins for your candles, but they’re smaller than I expected – guess it helps to read the description! I go into detail about how many candles one of the four bags of wax can make, but remember, it all depends on the size of your jars/tins. For me, one bag filled four of the small tins it came with. So, it may be different if you’re using a large jar.

As for the instructions, they’re pretty straightforward, but I wish they had more detail on how much water to fill the pot with to help the wax melt in the pouring pot.

I show the process of making and pouring the wax into the tins in my video down below, but overall, it’s a pretty great starter kit for anyone who is interested in making their own candles. I like that it also included five different essential oils, so you definitely get a variety of scents.

How I made my own candle | Candle DIY

Hope you all had a great weekend! I spent part of it making this candle – it was something I had been wanting to do for a long time, but didn’t realize how much went into it!

My plan was to make a citronella candle to keep mosquitoes away in the backyard, but I couldn’t find citronella oil anywhere (in person)! So, I ended up using pure lemon and orange essential oils. I understand essential oils are flammable, so I encourage everyone who wants to DIY a candle to do research to understand the correct amount of essential or fragrance oil to use in your candle.

As you’ll see in my video, I melted half of each bag of wax at a time in order to make sure I wasn’t over-making any. In total, I ended up using two and a half pounds of wax melt.

In the end, I’m super happy with how my first DIY candle turned out! I think it looks pretty and is a wonderful centerpiece for our patio!

I will have everything that I can, linked, linked from Amazon, including the citronella oil I should have ordered before starting this project!
