Holiday Gift Guide 2023

Thanksgiving is tomorrow.. which means we can all officially listen to Christmas music without any pushback! Don’t worry, I listen to Christmas music whenever I want! Okay.. now to the gift guides.

I separated my gift guides into different sections, so my “gifts for her” collage might look a little sparse – but that is because there is also a “haircare” gift guide, and stocking stuffers. Overall, these collages are literally guides – meant to give you inspo to tailor your gifts for your friends and family. Which is also a big reason why my “gifts for him” guide is always small compared to my other collages. Whether the man you’re shopping for loves the outdoors or prefers to splurge on tool boxes – there’s just no happy medium to combine everything into one collage. so, I just keep that one simple – a mix of clothing, cologne, and something I think all men will enjoy!

Remember, as with any other sale or holiday- stay within your budget. It’s the thought that counts!

My Puffer Vest Collection

Tis the season for puffer vests! We might be a little past that here in Montana, but I’m sure we’ll have a few “warmer” days where it’s not totally freezing here.

To me, a good puffer vest can add a lot to your outfit, and really help elevate it. I don’t consider myself a real fashion blogger/influencer, but I do feel pretty fashionable in a nice puffer vest – lol. In fact, my puffer vest collection has grown since moving to Montana – I only had one puffer vest in Colorado!

Out of my four puffer vests, half are from Amazon and the other half came from other shops. Fortunately, I found similar options that are still available; so three out of the four puffer vests I’m sharing are from Amazon.

  3. Free People-inspired Amazon Puffer Vest (very similar looking to the one I bought from an online boutique)

As for sizing in all of these – I wear a size small. Even if a puffer vest says “oversized” on Amazon, I still get a size small.

What I love most about puffer vests is the versatility of them. I can wear them with jeans, leggings, and even sweatpants. So, it’s perfect to wear when I’m out running errands, or lounging at home and want to look a bit more put together.

Nu Skin LumiSpa First Impressions

I think just being in my 30s has made me take a serious look at my skincare routine. I find myself asking questions like, “Is this even working?” I want smoother-looking skin, and of course, to rid my face of those annoying blackheads!

The Nu Skin LumiSpa was something I started looking into months ago, however, it is pretty pricey! The ageLOC LumiSpa iO device itself is priced at $245. Throw in the face wash (specific to your skin type), and it’s $255 for the “kit.” I say “kit” in quotes because it doesn’t even include a stand (I was in denial). So, I really took some time, and did a ton of research on whether it would be right for my skin type and if it truly does work.

Just around the time I was ready to bite the bullet and make the big purchase, Nu Skin had an after-Labor Day sale – I was ready! But they also had a special deal if you signed up to be an affiliate – which was NOT my plan at all. I go into more detail about this and my thoughts on MLMs in my full first impressions YouTube video, but the main takeaway here is that I specifically joined the affiliate program in order to get that special deal.

Okay, let’s get right into it..

Does the LumiSpa work? aka, it is effective?

I’ve been using the LumiSpa for nearly three weeks now and I’m happy to say it’s actually quite effective. While I understand it can take your skin/body three months to fully see the effect of a new routine/diet, the things I noticed first were the little blackheads around the corners of my mouth disappearing. These are blackheads so small and close to the surface, so I’m glad I pretty much got instant results in that sense.

I’ve also noticed the LumiSpa truly does lift makeup and face grease away. Please understand, this is not a makeup-removing device, so when I say it lifts makeup away, I’m talking about the leftover makeup on my face, that I didn’t get off with my hands and cleanser.

I also want to mention, every time I’ve used my LumiSpa and used a toner on my face – the cotton round is still white! This never happened before the LumiSpa – so I guess I just sucked at cleaning my face.

What I hope to see in the next three months

While I’m happy with the results I’ve seen from the LumiSpa so far, I’m excited to see what’s in store for the next three months. I really hope to see my texture improve, my face continue to look even clearer, and just less acne and blackheads in general.

Should you get it?

I think the LumiSpa can be beneficial for anyone looking to get a deeper cleanse in their skincare routine. However, I do think those who are prone to blackheads will be super happy with the results, because the LumiSpa really does push out blackheads and whiteheads, with ease.

My face never feels irritated after using this twice a day – it only takes two minutes, and that’s the best part! It’s also so easy to use. It’s similar to using the Sonicare toothbrush, where it will vibrate to alert you when it’s time to switch to another section of your face (which Is divided into four quadrants).

I personally don’t think the Nu Skin website is the easiest to use, so I’m linking a few kits with specific cleanser types. I will link one kit with the stand, but let me know if you’re looking to get one in a specific color!

What did I buy?

I personally haven’t been looking for anything in particular and really wasn’t planning to shop this sale. However, I did see this denim midi skirt from Abercrombie and thought I would give it a try since they seem to be the latest rage these days. I’ll share a try-on of it when it comes in, on my Instagram account.

Since this blog post is going up on a Thursday night, I’ll be sharing an Abercrombie denim try-on sometime tomorrow. I love see try-ons of clothes I’m planning to buy – it really helps me see how the fit is, especially if it’s another petite content creator doing the try-on – which I always appreciate!

An Honest Review of Skims Bras

When it comes to bras, I feel like it can take YEARS to find the one you love – the one you want to stick with! I believe I have finally found it: Skims.

I started exploring Skims through their dresses first, then quickly made the move to their undergarments. I quickly fell in love with the brand. Turns out, Kim Kardashian knows what she’s doing. Everything I own from her brand is comfortable and great quality. And yes, the same goes for the bras.

At this time, the newest bra released from Skims is the Teardrop Push-Up Bra. My social accounts were quickly filled with ad videos showing off the fit of the bra, including women of all bust sizes. The one thing I didn’t see, was the inside of the bra itself. So, I’m here to show it to you!

I’ve tried on a ton of push-up bras growing up, and I can say this is one of the best and most comfortable push-ups I’ve ever put on. In fact, I knew I had to give an honest review of the Skims Teardrop Push-Up Bra. It’s a great bra, but it’s just not for me.

I believe it really depends on how you feel while wearing it. While I felt great support and coverage, I feel like it just made me look a little extra; over the top. While I do agree, the bra does give great shape, I’m not looking for the extra oomph that it gives me. However, if that is something you’re looking for – go for it!

On the left side of the image above, I’m wearing my true size in the Skims Fits Everybody T-Shirt Bra (my favorite bra!). On the right side, I’m wearing the Teardrop Push-Up Bra. The difference is crazy! I hope this helps you understand why I decided against keeping the bra. BUT – I did keep the Fits Everybody T-Shirt – I’m obsessed!

However, I have quite a few Skims bras in my collection already. I have fully made the switch to Skims bras not only because they’re comfortable and last, but after so many washes, I have yet to find any spots that fade/tear/fall apart. Nothing has been damaged and started poking me – like I have found with other bras.
